“Hungry Ghosts!” by Fiona Wong to publish with Chronicle Children’s in 2028

Ian Tseng at Chronicle has acquired Hungry Ghosts! by debut picture book author Fiona Wong, illustrated by Yan Gu (Bitter Tea and Rock Candy), in which a girl explores the traditions of the Hungry Ghost Festival with her family by traversing the spirit realm to learn the importance of remembering treasured time with her late grandmother. Publication is slated for summer 2028. Ellen Goff at HG Literary represented the author and Wendi Gu at HG Literary represented the illustrator in the deal for world rights.
